University of Basra Organizes a Workshop on "Your Role Matters... To Reduce Domestic Violence"

The College of Administration and Economics - Qurna/ Women’s Affairs Unit at the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, organized a workshop titled "Your Role Matters... To Reduce Domestic Violence" on Monday, December 2, 2024.

The workshop aimed to highlight the main causes and types of domestic violence prevalent in Iraqi society and to emphasize the essential solutions that can revive the spirit of family solidarity and societal peace.

The workshop included several key topics:

1. Types of Domestic Violence, presented by Ms. Zeinab Mohsen Rida.
2. Economic Causes of the Increase in Domestic Violence Statistics in Iraq, presented by Dr. Wissan Hadi Faihan.
3. Domestic Violence Between Social Culture and Future Vision, presented by Major Muntadhar Kazem Ni'ma.
4. The Importance of Education for Women and Men in Protecting the Family from Violence, presented by Prof. Dr. Basma Kazhar Hassan.
