A committee consisting of Dr. Fahad Mansour and Dr. Basem Hamed Sultan was formed by the presidency of the University of Basrah to detect and classify more than 1400 samples of rocks and minerals affiliated to the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering. The committee has completed isolation and diagnosis of radioactive samples which was saved safely. Also they classified the remaining samples into sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks.
