The College of Engineering at the University of Basra held a teaching eligibility test for applicants for new appointments to government and private engineering colleges, specializing in civil engineering and computer engineering. Each of them gave a specialized scientific lecture to demonstrate his ability and capacity to teach and deliver the scientific material to students. After that, they were tested on their proficiency in the English language. The head and members of the committee explained their observations for each applicant to enhance his performance and future skills in giving lectures. Some of them were able to pass the test well. As for the other section, they were not able to pass the test, so they were given a second attempt after a specific period in order to develop their ability and skills in teaching.
