Within the framework of scientific and awareness cooperation between educational institutions, the Department of Life Sciences at the College of Science - University of Basra received a delegation of students from Al-Hartha Intermediate School for Boys on 12/12/2024, with the aim of enhancing their scientific culture and learning about the latest scientific techniques used in the study of biology.
The visit included an introductory tour of the department's various laboratories, where students had the opportunity to view scientific experiments and modern devices, such as research microscopes and biological sample analyses. The students also listened to a simplified lecture presented by the department's professors on topics of interest to their daily lives, such as
Microbiology and its role in human health and the environment. Common parasites such as amoeba and giardia and their impact on health. Biotechnology and its applications in medical research. At the end of the visit, the students expressed their great enthusiasm for what they learned, and the professors praised their level of interaction and scientific curiosity. The College of Science administration confirmed the continuation of such visits to enhance communication between the university and schools and create a generation aware of science and its importance in our lives.
