




Basra University Organizes a Scientific Symposium on the Law of Basra as Iraq’s Economic Capital
The College of Administration and Economics in Qurna at Basra University organized a scientific symposium titled “Basra as Iraq’s Economic Capital: Between Legislative Aspects and Economic Implications,” with the attendance of the university’s Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Dr. Ali Hussein Rashk.
The symposium aimed to shed light on the importance of activating the law designating Basra as Iraq’s economic capital. It focused on discussing and highlighting the currently enacted legislative frameworks and the future ones required to support this pivotal role of the province.
The symposium, presented by Dr. Adnan Farhan Al-Jourani and MP Engineer Adnan Al-Jabri, included an overview of the current economic legislations related to selecting Basra as Iraq’s economic capital. It also addressed the challenges and opportunities the province faces in fulfilling its role as an economic hub.
