The Faculty of Science at the University of Basrah organized a scientific lecture entitled Secure Optical Communications delivered by the lecturer, Dr. Emad Abdul Zahra Mohammed. The lecture aims to review how to secure data transmission via fiber optics or other optical systems against threats and intrusions. Quantum key distribution technology is used to ensure secure key exchange using the properties of quantum physics. The lecture also included a review of the mechanisms for verifying information and confirming the authenticity of data transmitted using these technologies.The lecture also addressed the latest developments and challenges facing this field in order to ensure the secure transfer of data in the future.
