The College of Engineering, University of Basra/Department of Development and Continuing Education organized a training course entitled “The Impact of Climate Change on Water Resources in Iraq” The course, delivered by Dr. Ahmed Sakban Khader, includes discussing the basic concepts of the impact of climate change on water resources in Iraq, with a statement of the use of advanced technologies such as geographic information systems and remote sensing in them. The course aims to find the solutions required to reduce its negative effects in Iraq, which is among the five countries considered most vulnerable to harsh climatic conditions and lack of access to water and food according to the United Nations classification.
