(The importance of educational tools in improving the performance of the applied student)

It addressed some of the difficulties that the applied student may face in secondary education because the application is a field experience and a professional challenge and is one of the components of the practical education subject. The student trained during his studies at the college in addition to the scientific specialization, taking lessons in psychology, educational guidance and teaching methods. Through the workshop lectures, the importance of using educational tools of various types in different scientific specializations was explained, which helps the applied student to enhance confidence between him and his students and raise the level of interaction in the classroom. Emphasis was placed on using educational techniques and learning technology as much as possible and according to what is available in schools or manufacturing them with their students as extracurricular activities that raise their evaluation with supervisors and the school administration's appreciation of them by reviewing the application form and its evaluation paragraphs. The students were introduced to the cone of experience of the educational world (Edgar Dale) and the most important rules for using educational tools. It was also emphasized to plan the lesson and prepare appropriate tools for it before entering the class, which increases the good management of time inside the class. The development witnessed by the University of Basra in the use of virtual laboratories such as the anatomical table in the College of Medicine, which is the first in Iraq with 4k technology, was also praised, as well as directing them to some free virtual laboratories that their students can be directed to as part of the development in secondary education. The lecturers discussed with the attending students some of the difficulties they may face in their new reality, and whether the educational tool replaces or replaces the teacher and the reasons for some teachers’ reluctance to use educational tools despite their importance. A set of recommendations and proposals were included to enhance the educational reality at the university, the most important of which is the necessity of establishing an educational laboratory in each department in the college as well as in the corresponding colleges of education that is concerned with training students in the fourth stage to use tools in their common form such as models, pictures, practical experiments, etc. during teaching, as well as using learning technology such as virtual laboratories, presentations, and e-learning. The lecturers also pointed out the phenomenon of poor handwriting and spelling mistakes among the students, which must be addressed through prior training, because the teacher is a role model for his students in the classroom. The students were also directed to adhere to attendance, dress appropriately, and behave in a manner that reflects the image of the college and the university. The workshop was successful and achieved its goals. The Dean, Professor Dr. Majid Mohammed Jassim, praised the efforts of the lecturers and organizers.
