The Continuing Education Unit organized a scientific symposium on (Community Awareness in Addressing Environmental Pollution), in which lecturers Dr. Abdul Muttalib Abdullah Muhammad, Dr. Iman Hanash Rahi, Assistant Professor Tadhamon Sabah, Assistant Professor Zahraa Mahmoud, and Assistant Professor Zainab Alaa gave lectures. The symposium included presenting and discussing the concept of environmental pollution, its types, sources, and harmful effects on the environment and health security of humans and other living organisms, then the treatments and solutions proposed for it, and how to raise awareness and educate the community to preserve the environment. The symposium was attended by a number of professors, teaching assistants, and students in the College of Nursing.The symposium also touched on the effects of pollution on the environment, the effect of air pollution on the successive chain of the food chain, the effect of pollution on human and animal health, the effect of pollution (air pollution) on the climate, the ozone layer, and wildlife and aquatic life in general, in addition to how humans contribute to increasing environmental pollution.
