



Basra University Organizes a Student Trip to the Hussaini and Abbasid Shrines
As part of the ongoing collaboration between the College of Administration and Economics – Qurna and the Holy Hussaini Shrine, the college organized a student trip to the Hussaini and Abbasid shrines on Friday and Saturday, February 7-8, 2025. The trip was attended by 40 students, along with several faculty members, and was supervised by Sheikh Qahtan Al-Hilfi, the representative of the supreme religious authority in the Qurna district.
The trip included visits to the sacred shrines in Karbala, as well as a series of distinctive cultural and religious activities. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to a lecture on the importance of the integration of science and religion, and the role of youth in spreading Islamic values, delivered by Sheikh Abdul Sattar Al-Hassnawi. Another lecture addressed the role of youth in combating extremist ideologies, presented by M.M. Bilal Nuri Khairallah, which added an important awareness aspect to the trip.
At the conclusion of the trip, students expressed their gratitude for the efforts made by the college and the kind religious supervision that allowed them this enriching spiritual and cultural experience. Participants emphasized the importance of engaging in such activities that help instill Islamic values and strengthen ties with religious institutions, expressing their hope for similar trips to be organized in the future to enhance communication and integration between academic knowledge and spirituality.
