The two lecturers, Prof. Dr. Dunya Khairallah Khasaf and Prof. Dr. Wasal Fakhri Hassan, from the Department of Applied Marine Sciences - College of Marine Sciences, participated in the first meeting of the Environmental Protection and Improvement Council, which was held at the Basra Governorate Diwan on February 9, 2025.
This participation came with the aim of discussing the environmental reality in the governorate, and proposing solutions and recommendations that contribute to improving and upgrading the environment. The meeting was attended by representatives of service departments and university institutions, and was chaired by Mr. Maher Al-Amiri, Deputy Governor of Basra for Administrative Affairs.
This meeting comes within the ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation between academic institutions and government agencies to achieve a better environment in Basra Governorate.
