Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Educational Guidance Unit, organized a symposium entitled Guardians in Religions, in which Assistant Lecturer Zainab Alaa Abdul Latif and Assistant Researcher Nouris Talib lectured. The symposium reviewed the movement of guardians in heavenly religions and their role in preserving nations from doctrinal deviations and preserving the course of religious practices and behaviors in their correct form. The symposium was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Sundus Baqir Dawood, Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, and a number of faculty members, employees, and students of the college. The symposium discussed the qualities of guardians and their status in the Abrahamic religions and in the heavenly books, and their contribution to formulating the goals of life, in addition to the need of societies for harmony and peace and embodying true religious principles. Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, called for the importance of adhering to authentic Islamic values and confronting all ideas of extremism and ignorance and drawing inspiration from the lofty values and principles from the memory of Eid Al-Ghadir, calling for steadfastness in authentic moral values, as what Islam brought of authentic principles urges work and diligence and not wasting time and investing time in serving society.
