University of Basrah master's thesis examines the effect of innate immune cells for the treatment of colitis

A master's thesis in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah investigated the effect and role of innate immune cells in the treatment of induced colitis in mice when treated with biostimulants.
The thesis, by Fatin Mohammed Iskandar, aimed to identify the role of innate immunity represented by antimicrobial peptides and their mechanism of action when using probiotics as a successful treatment for colitis.
The thesis included inducing colitis in mice, dosing them with probiotics, and studying the immune mechanism using full and molecular assays.
