The Continuing Education Unit organized an educational and awareness seminar on the pros and cons of artificial intelligence and social media, which was lectured by Assistant Lecturer Hiba Abdul Baqi, Assistant Lecturer Zainab Alaa Abdul Latif, and Assistant Lecturer Ghufran Khaled Shuraida.
The workshop dealt with several important axes. The first axis dealt with the pros of artificial intelligence in increasing productivity, improving health care, automating tasks, and developing innovations, and its cons such as job loss, excessive reliance on technology, privacy violations, data bias, and security risks.
The second axis touched on some useful artificial intelligence programs in education. Such as Quillbot, I love pdf, chatgpt 305. And their useful uses for students and scientific research.
The third axis showed social media
Its pros such as exchanging experiences, global communication, job opportunities, public health, and social support.
And its negatives, such as the violation of privacy, the spread of misleading information, the manipulation of public opinion, and the negative impact on mental and psychological health.
