The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled (Using nanoparticles and bioflocculant produced by bacteria for wastewater treatment) by the graduate student Hawraa Qays Obaid. The study aims to isolate bacteria from contaminated environments and identify at the molecular level based on 16SrRNA gene sequences and screening of bacterial isolates' ability to produce bioflocculants and nanoparticles and included characterization of bioflocculants and nanoparticles. The study recommended the use of IONPs and bioflocculants in the bioremediation of various pollutants.
