His doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Basra investigated the possibility of using pearlite material in the formation of high-temperature ceramics applied to local clays.
 The thesis presented by researcher Ahmed Abdel Munshid aims to investigate the possibility of using pearlite material to produce high-temperature glass.
The thesis included the use of agricultural pearlite in the production of high-temperature ceramics applied to local clay in order to achieve economic feasibility by converting an inexpensive natural material into glass that can be used in glazing pottery works.
 The thesis concluded that safe natural agricultural pearlite glass can be produced in high-temperature porcelain molding.
