In conjunction with the initiative of the Prime Minister to plant five million trees and palm trees, and in implementation of the plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the College of Nursing at the University of Basra organized a tree planting campaign on the occasion of the National Tree Planting Day.Under the direct supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, and in the presence of a ministerial delegation, the Student Activities Unit organized, in cooperation with the faculty, members and students of the college.Believing in its role in combating desertification and sustaining the vegetation cover in the university, our college implemented a tree planting campaign in which a group of professors, employees and students participated.This campaign aims to increase green spaces and provide suitable climates and an environment suitable for the student, as a number of spaces were planted with evergreen trees and gardens were decorated with roses and trees that are resistant to environmental conditions and high temperatures in the summer. The campaign included planting many seedlings of various types of trees with a high ability to withstand the hot conditions of Basra Governorate. For his part, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, Dean of the College, said that this campaign aims to strengthen the foundations and principles of the model educational environment, which requires providing a healthy climate and a suitable environmental atmosphere for students, teaching staff and affiliates working in the college, in addition to improving the appearance
