A capable medical team was able, for the fourth week, in performing rare operations to remove adrenal gland tumors in the Basrah Health Department / Al-Faihaa Specialized Center, headed by the Dean of the College of Medicine, the Anesthetic doctor; Prof. Dr. Nawfal Ali Al-Mubarak, Consultant Surgeon Dr. Abdul Amir Mohsen Al-Daraji, Consultant Surgeon Dr. Ahmed Najm Al-Amara, Consultant Surgeon Dr. Adel Abdul Samad, and a team of endocrinologists at Al-Faihaa Specialized Center. The operation is to remove an adrenal gland tumor (pheochromocytoma) for a 23-year-old patient from Basrah Governorate.
The medical team stated that this super-major operation was successful, during which the right adrenal gland was removed with the tumor, and the patient in such cases needs important preparations before and during the operation to control the secretions of the adrenal gland.
