In conjunction with the Prime Minister's afforestation initiative and in implementation of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's plan, the Date Palm Research Center at the University of Basra organized a tree and palm planting campaign on the occasion of National Afforestation Day.
The campaign included planting a number of trees and palm trees in the gardens surrounding the center.
The initiative aimed to preserve the environment, expand green spaces, combat desertification, and provide a sustainable environment befitting the university's professors and students.
