The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Basrah,College of Medicine , under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, and the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Nawfal Ali Al-Mubarak, and in cooperation with the Basrah Health Directorate, held a scientific symposium on diabetes in children. The symposium addressed the medical care that must be provided to children with diabetes, given the importance of this topic in treating this disease and reducing its complications, in addition to increasing awareness among pediatricians of the latest scientific developments in diabetes in children. The symposium included the technology of continuous monitoring of blood sugar levels and methods of administering insulin to children with type 1 diabetes, as well as nutritional treatment for children with type 1 diabetes, in addition to how to treat children with diabetes when they develop disease
