Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Prof. Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazem Al-Asadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Mufid Turki Rashid, the College of Engineering at the University of Basra organized a workshop entitled (Air pollution and its effects on humans and the environment) with the participation of a number of researchers and specialists as well as the concerned departments in the province. The workshop aims to detect the effects of air pollution through direct and indirect causes on humans and the environment The symposium addresses a very important topic related to the environmental challenges facing our societies and the impact of air pollution on public health and ecosystems, with scientific insights and proposals to reduce its negative effects The workshop included (detection of the causes of intentional and unintended pollutants and their spatial and temporal impact) and the importance of following scientific guidelines in reducing or mitigating the causes of pollutants) The workshop touched on air pollutants and methods of prevention ones. The workshop aims to highlight the problems causing air pollution in Basra Governorate, find solutions and ways to reduce them, raise awareness of the dangers of pollution and encourage active participation to identify solutions and problems of air pollution.
