The the University of Basrah at the College of Medicine hosted the Sheikh of Surgeons Dr. Hashim Al-Khayat Championship under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kazim Al-Asadi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Nawfal Ali Al-Mubarak, and in cooperation with the Medical Association. The tournament aims to strengthen the relationship between doctors at the College of Medicine and the Medical Association, as the College of Medicine is considered the reference and home for doctors who graduated from it. The first match of the Ramadan tournament was held at the College of Medicine stadium between the Eagles team, represented by the Basrah Medical Association , and the Nabd Al-Koura team, represented by a group of doctors. The Eagles team, led by the Captain and Head of medical association, Dr. Wissam Al-Radini, managed to win over the Nabd Al-Koura team, led by Dr. Hassanein Mohammed Hussein, on penalty kicks.
