University of Basrah performs surgery on ruminant species

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Basrah, in collaboration with the Veterinary Hospital, performed a quality surgery on a ruminant.
The operation was performed on a sheep suffering from uterine prolapse by the veterinarians of the surgery and obstetrics branch within the clinical lesson for the final stage students, and antibiotics were administered to prevent any further complications.
It is noteworthy that this condition is common in ruminants and occurs after birth and has several reasons, including dystocia, large fetal size or twin pregnancies, and can occur when the uterine ligaments loosen, and sometimes as a result of the absence of some important elements such as calcium and magnesium in the feed provided to the animal.
