The College of Administration and Economics/Al-Qurna at the University of Basrah organized an introductory and guidance workshop on the Bologna Process system for first-year students in the Departments of Project Management and Finance and Investment. The workshop took place on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Zahid Qasim Badan, Head of the Finance and Investment Department, and Assistant Professor Dr. Wissam Bashir Hassan, Head of the Project Management Department. The workshop covered the objectives and pathways of the Bologna system, mechanisms for its implementation in Iraqi universities, and the key benefits it offers to students, such as enhancing skills and competencies and linking curricula with the labor market. It also highlighted the credit hour system, requirements for success and assessment, and how students can benefit from the opportunities the system provides, such as the possibility of transferring between universities according to European standards.
This workshop comes at the beginning of the second semester, following the first experience with the system in the first semester. It aims to clarify basic concepts, address any challenges or inquiries students may have, and ensure their full understanding of the system's requirements and implementation mechanisms.
At the end of the workshop, a discussion session was opened for students, during which their questions were answered, and their opinions on the new experience were discussed. This reflects the university's commitment to providing a flexible and advanced educational environment in accordance with international standards.
