Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Unit, organized a symposium on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan entitled "The Objective Interpretation of the Holy Quran: Importance and Methodology." The symposium featured lectures by Sheikh Muhammad Hamza Al-Asadi and Sheikh Hani Al-Asadi from the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein. The symposium aimed to highlight the importance of a comprehensive interpretation of the great Surat An-Naba' in achieving the objectives of Islamic law, providing a deeper understanding of Quranic texts, and clarifying how objective interpretation can contribute to resolving contemporary issues from a Sharia perspective. The symposium addressed the definition of the teleological interpretation of the great Surah An-Naba. This is a type of Quranic interpretation that focuses on understanding the higher objectives of the Holy Quran, i.e., the goals and purposes that the Quran seeks to achieve through its verses. This interpretation aims to extract lessons and morals that contribute to achieving righteousness and reform in the lives of individuals and societies. It relies on linking the Quranic text to contemporary reality in light of the needs of the nation. The symposium included Quranic questions and answers, and gifts were distributed to the winners.
