Under the patronage of Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad al-Nawab, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Unit, organized a workshop on early detection of breast cancer. Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Ziara Khalaf and Dr. Sawsan Abdul Razzaq lectured at the workshop.The workshop covered early detection of breast cancer. Students were introduced to the seriousness of breast cancer after presenting Iraqi and international statistics on the subject. The workshop explained the most important symptoms and signs associated with the disease, as well as how to diagnose, treat, and prevent this fatal disease that claims the lives of women. Students were also trained on breast self-examination using breast cancer simulation dolls.Al-Nawab emphasized the college's commitment to organizing numerous awareness seminars and workshops throughout the year to activate the college's role in reducing societal problems and contributing to their solutions.
