College of Nursing MediaUnder the patronage of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab.
Based on the directives and vision of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra to spread health culture and public awareness, and to encourage faculty, staff, and students to participate in activities aimed at addressing common problems in society, the College of Nursing held an educational symposium on medication misuse. Professor Atour Talib and Assistant Professor Dr. Saba Adnan presented at the symposium. The symposium addressed the dangers of medication misuse, including an explanation of the risks and ways to avoid them through proper use. The symposium also highlighted the dangers of antibiotic misuse and the risks this practice poses to both patients and society. A set of guidelines was presented to be observed when using this medication. The symposium also addressed the misuse of steroid medications and the reasons behind this practice, highlighting the potential future harms associated with it. The symposium concluded with some questions and participation from the attendees of medical cases that suffered from drug misuse.
