Coinciding with Iraq's Afforestation Day, which the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research recognizes on March 12 of each year, and in line with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani's initiative to plant five million trees and palm trees, the University of Basra's Marine Sciences Center continues its afforestation campaign, raising environmental awareness, holding seminars, and printing posters and posters on the topic. The center affirms its ongoing commitment to encouraging environmental initiatives, believing in the role of afforestation in improving the climate and spreading a culture of sustainability within the academic community.
