Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Kadhim, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Basra, Assistant Professor Dr. Majid Asghar Muhammad Al-Nawab, the College's Continuing Education Unit organized a scientific symposium on Personal Protective Equipment and Infection Control for Nursing Students in Hospitals. The symposium featured Assistant Professor Dr. Nour Jabbar, Assistant Lecturer Zainab Alaa Abdul Latif, and Research Assistant Nouris Talib.
The symposium addressed several topics, most notably the definition of infection control, its importance and a historical overview, and the most important pillars of infection control.
Methods of infection control in hospitals and in the community. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and its importance, the sequence of putting it on and taking it off, and the role of vaccination in protecting healthcare workers and reducing the spread of infection. The symposium emphasized the importance of implementing effective safety policies and providing comprehensive and integrated care to workers and employees through regular training and a commitment to protecting them, to reduce the risks they may be exposed to during work.
