The Cultural Center organizes a symposium on domestic violence and its impact on society
The Cultural Center, the University of Basra, in cooperation with the Police Command of Basra Governorate, organized a seminar entitled Domestic Violence and its Impact on Society today, Tuesday, 12/1/2021, with the participation of professors, specialists, police officers and civil activists interested in the family and society on the hall of the Astronomical Dome Cultural Center.
The symposium aims to activate the role of the University of Basra, after which it is an incubator for educational and educational energies in various disciplines through which society is made aware of the danger of the widespread phenomenon, which creates a violent generation.
The symposium, which was moderated by Prof. Dr. Sajid Ahmid Al-Rikabi, Faculty of Law and Politics, University of Basra, included three research papers, the first entitled Domestic Violence, its causes and effects, and some ways of treatment for Dr. Shatha Abdul Latif Al-Hamdoun, Faculty of Education for Girls, University of Basra, and the second research, patterns of domestic violence and the challenges of limiting its spread, for Brigadier General Bassem Ghanem Al-Malki, Director of Relations and Media of the Basra Police Command. The third research paper was entitled Reading in the Law of Protection from Domestic Violence for the Young Civil Activist Abdul Aziz Hussein Ali from Injaz Basra Foundation for Development and Development.
