The College of Science at the University of Basra discussed the doctoral thesis of researcher Ghaith Abdul Razzaq Hasaj, entitled "Hybrid nanojunction of copper oxide and zinc oxide for photodetection." The thesis involved the fabrication of hybrid nanojunctions of copper oxide and zinc oxide using simple and inexpensive techniques. The thesis aimed to improve the sensitivity and selectivity of photodetection and reduce energy consumption. The results demonstrated outstanding performance when using spin coating and annealing of samples, achieving a high optical sensitivity of 340,700% and a specific detection rate of 4.5×10¹¹ Jones, confirming the superiority of these devices over their counterparts in the field.
