The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a workshop on the importance of algae in addressing environmental challenges and as a sustainable energy source.
The workshop aimed to clarify the role of algae in biofuel production and mitigating global warming.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Ibtihal Musa Jaafar and Dr. Sadad Asaad Mutasher, included ongoing research and developments that promise a future in which algae can play a pivotal role in achieving environmental sustainability.
The workshop recommended urging responsible authorities in Iraq to support this important aspect of producing clean and sustainable third-generation energy from algae, given its positive environmental impact when used as a substitute for fossil fuels.
