General Guidelines for University Examinations - Preliminary Study
• All members of the examination committees must have access to a copy of the applicable examination instructions, admission regulations, and directives issued regarding examination committees and records, as well as the College Council's decision regarding the handling of student cases. There must be a shared understanding and uniform application of these guidelines.
• All members of the examination committee must have access to a copy of the University Examinations Management Guide.
• No one other than members of the examination committee is permitted to be present in the examination committee room under any circumstances.
• The examination committee must place an explanatory notice near the examination halls, on the examination committee's bulletin board, and on the college or department's website regarding the matters that students must observe during examinations, including the following:
1. The student must arrive before the scheduled examination time in sufficient time to ensure that their name appears on the college (or) department's bulletin board to identify the examination hall.
2. The student must bring their valid university ID or a photocopy of their university ID issued by the college's registration office. Students will not be permitted to take the examination without it. 3. Upon entering the examination hall, you must present a valid university ID. 4. Students are not permitted to enter the examination hall to take the exam after halfway through the exam time under any circumstances.
5. Only ballpoint pens, blue ink, or black ink are allowed to be used to write the student's name, subject, and other information on the cover of the exam booklet.
6. Students must ensure that the exam booklet bears the exam committee's seal. Otherwise, the hall administrator must be notified to replace the booklet with a sealed one. Any exam booklet that does not bear the seal will not be marked.
7. Students arriving late for the exam will not be given any additional time, and the student must complete the exam within the remaining time.
8. Ensure that the exam booklet and its cover are intact.
9. Students may use only ballpoint pens, blue ink, or black ink. They may not use other colors, such as red, green, or other colors, or use white ink instead of crossing out or erasing the written material. Students may answer in pencil if specifically designated by the instructor and stated in the exam questions.
10. If the open-book exam format approved by the College Council is adopted, students are permitted to answer in pencil. Students are permitted to bring books and lectures into the exam, provided that this is specified by the subject instructor in the exam questions.
11. Students are strictly prohibited from bringing a mobile phone into the exam hall. They must hand it over to the designated employee before the exam begins and must turn it off. If a student violates this, they will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.
12. Smoking or bringing a pack of cigarettes into the exam hall is prohibited.
13. Students must adhere to disciplined behavior and refrain from any action that would disrupt order and the smooth running of the exam.
14. Students are not permitted to possess books, study notes, or any other aids, especially mobile phones or smart watches, or any other papers or electronic devices inside the exam hall. Otherwise, this is considered cheating.
15. Students are permitted to bring a calculator if the instructor responsible for the subject recommends allowing it as necessary for the exam.
16. Talking to any student during the exam is strictly prohibited. Doing so is considered cheating. 17. The exam will be considered void if the student fails to sign the attendance register before leaving the examination hall.
18. The student has the right to participate in the second-round exam if their absence from the first round was due to a legitimate excuse, in accordance with the applicable examination instructions and relevant ministerial circulars.
19. The student is required to take both the theoretical and practical exams for the subject to complete that subject. If the student fails the subject in the first round or is absent from either exam in the first round, they must take both exams in the second round.
20. All students must wear the uniform.
