The Department of Ecology at the College of Science at the University of Basra organized a workshop on determining relationships between various environmental factors using the "PAST" program.
The workshop aimed to use simple and easy statistical programs, including the "PAST" program, to link environmental factors together and find positive and negative relationships before using other statistical programs approved for research.
The workshop, presented by Dr. Adel Fadhel Abbas, a lecturer in the Department of Ecology, included an explanation of the program's simplicity and ease of use, as it is a free program, without delving into other, more complex statistical analysis programs.
The workshop recommended that researchers use simple, easy, and free programs to analyze their data before delving into popular and approved statistical analysis programs. This allows them to find relationships and their impact on each other, as well as the possibility of changing, adding, or removing factors early on.
