The Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, received a delegation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, headed by Dr. Nisreen Samir Jabbar Al-Lami, Director of the Youth Leadership Department at the Ministry.
The delegation included five officials and representatives from the Ministry, including staff from the Center for Research and Studies, the National Youth Observatory, and the Gifted Care Department, in addition to a staff member from the Youth Leadership Department.
During the visit, the delegation toured the college's halls and distributed questionnaires to young people under the age of 35. The questionnaires addressed their views on participation in cultural and literary activities and the importance of joint and peaceful dialogue as a means of expressing opinions and promoting societal values.
For his part, the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Haider Awfi Ahmed, expressed his thanks and appreciation for this initiative, which reflects the Ministry's interest in the opinions and aspirations of young people. He emphasized that the college is always open to initiatives that contribute to empowering young people and strengthening their role in building society, particularly with regard to promoting a culture of dialogue, understanding, and tolerance.
