The research aimed to categorize E. coli bacteria based on their presence, types of plasmids, and their unique phenotypic and genetic traits.
It also explored the potential of using plasmid profiles to assess the virulence and severity of infections, and introduced a novel approach for detecting bacterial transmission between humans and animals.
The thesis recommended employing molecular techniques, such as BLEND, to study the possible spread of pathogenic bacteria and their plasmids.
