A doctoral dissertation at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra examined planning indicators for urban development in the city of Rumaitha.
The dissertation, presented by student Hamad Daboul Al-Khazali, aimed to examine the extent to which planning standards for urban development and their indicators are consistent. Rumaitha provides a vivid example of the gap between urban planning in the city and the methods of implementing urban development, reflecting the needs of society and the requirements of development.
The study concluded the importance of the urban planning structure, focusing on development indicators. The aim was to uncover the factors influencing development, the challenges it faces, and the available opportunities, and to present a strategic vision that contributes to improving the urban planning process and raising the efficiency and quality of services in the city
