The College of Education for Pure Sciences is conducting a doctoral dissertation on oxidative stress and some biochemical variables in psoriasis patients. The dissertation, presented by researcher Ayat Amer Al-Khazai, included: Psoriasis is a chronic immune-mediated skin disease associated with an imbalance of oxidative and antioxidants, and can have profound psychological and physical effects. This study aimed to evaluate indicators of oxidative stress and antioxidants in psoriasis patients in Basra Governorate and examine their relationship with age, gender, disease severity, type of treatment, geographic location, and family history. The results showed early oxidative stress in patients, especially at a young age, with significant changes in levels of 8-OHdG, Vit C, ALB, and GPx. Women showed greater deficiencies in vitamins A, D, C, and E, and men had greater oxidative stress than women. Some indicators were also associated with type of treatment, geographic location, and family history, while selenium showed no significant differences
