A master's thesis at the College of Education for the Humanities at the University of Basra examined the extent of coherence and cohesion in the poetry of Abu Talib (peace be upon him). The thesis, submitted by student Ali Youssef Yaqoub, aimed to determine the extent of coherence and cohesion in Abu Talib's poetic texts. The thesis consisted of three chapters. The first chapter dealt with grammatical structure, the second with lexical structure, and the third with contextualization and intertextuality. The thesis concluded that coherence was achieved in Abu Talib's poetry (peace be upon him) through grammatical and lexical structure, as well as through contextualization and intertextuality
