A master's thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra examined the social, political, and intellectual role of Sayyid Ali Abdul-Hakim al-Safi (1937–2021).
The thesis, presented by student Awham Sami Hadal, aimed to shed light on Sayyid al-Safi's biography, his scholarly and religious upbringing, and his positions on the issues facing Iraq in the post-US occupation period, in addition to his social and cultural efforts and intellectual contributions.
The thesis concluded that Sayyid Ali Abdul-Hakim al-Safi represented an effective element in maintaining social and political stability in Basra, as he utilized his religious standing and intellectual awareness to serve the community and influence public issues
