A doctoral dissertation at the University of Basra examined the spatial analysis of the phenomenon of school dropout in Al-Qurna District. The dissertation, submitted by student Nagham Qasim Abdul Hamid, aimed to shed light on the phenomenon of primary and secondary school dropout in Al-Qurna District and analyze the variation in the phenomenon's magnitude over time and space. It also identified the extent of variation at the gender level, diagnosed and analyzed the causes and variables related to the phenomenon, and addressed the repercussions and effects of student dropout. The dissertation revealed a clear variation in the number of dropouts over time by gender, as well as in the number of male and female dropouts compared to their peers in school. It also revealed a significant increase in the number of dropouts from primary schools compared to secondary schools, and there was a variation by environment in both primary and secondary schools. It also demonstrated a clear superiority in the number of dropouts in urban areas compared to rural areas
