The thesis presented by the researcher Aya Ibrahim Abdul Sattar aims to reveal the class and social dimensions that were visually reflected in the subjects of paintings, their styles and aesthetic composition.
The dissertation included a critical analysis of the representations of the bourgeois class in the paintings of the baroque and Rococo eras as two separate epochs in the history of Western art.
The thesis concluded that painting in the baroque and Rococo era was not neutral but a mirror of the concept of the bourgeoisie as a new social force.
