The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Basra organized a moment of silence to mourn the souls of Iraq's martyrs and victims of genocide, with the participation of Dr. Wissam Juma Lafta, Dean of the College.
This humanitarian and national initiative commemorated the tragedy suffered by the Yazidi community at the hands of the terrorist organization ISIS, which claimed the lives of thousands of innocent civilians in Sinjar District in 2014, in addition to other crimes targeting various Iraqi communities.
The college's professors and staff participated in the moment in solidarity with the victims, affirming the need to promote the principles of peaceful coexistence, and expressing a humanitarian and moral commitment to the tragedies experienced by the nation's people. It also reflects national unity in the face of all attempts at division and extremism
