Pofessor Dr. Khairallah Moussa Awad, Director of the Date Palm Research Center, participated in the membership of the discussion committee of the Ph.D. thesis of the student Hasanin Muhammad Ghobash, entitled (the effect of pollution by heavy elements resulting from the burning of oil wells on some physical, chemical, anatomical and molecular characteristics of the leaves and fruits of the date palm,Hallawi cultivar) which took place in department of Horticulture and Landscaping in the College of Agriculture.
The study dealt with the negative effects resulting from the emission of heavy elements and petroleum hydrocarbons in the Nahran Bin Omar area on the growing trees in the region.
