The College of Education for Pure Sciences, Department of Chemistry, presented a master's thesis on "Preparation of New Polymeric Compounds and Study of Their Electrical and Physical Properties." The thesis, presented by researcher Hajar Ali Hussein, included the preparation and characterization of a group of conducting aromatic polymers and some of their derived copolymers using chemical polymerization and interfacial polymerization techniques. The monomers used in this study included: carbazole, 2-aminophenol, 2-aminobenzothiazole, 1,8-naphthalenediamine, and indole. Several copolymers were also prepared from these units with the aim of improving their physical and electrical properties compared to the individual polymers. After preparing the copolymers, they were doped with 1% multi-walled carbon nanotubes modified with carboxyl groups (MWCNTs-COOH), which were modified in the laboratory to improve their chemical compatibility with the polymer chains, thus enhancing the properties of the resulting materials in terms of performance and stability
