A master's thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Basra examined "Representations of the Self in the Poetry of Mazhar Hassan Al-Kaabi." The thesis, submitted by student Ali Abdul Rahman Fairouz, aimed to study the transformations of the poetic self in the poetic collections of Mazhar Hassan Al-Kaabi, and their semantic and aesthetic representations. It also aimed to uncover the mechanisms of self-formation and the manifestations of its fluctuations between revelation and concealment, observing the impact of this on the linguistic and artistic structures of the text. The thesis included an analytical and descriptive approach that combined careful textual reading with rhetorical and rhythmic tools. It reviewed the aesthetics of language, the structure of the poetic image, and the rhythms of the text, including meter, rhyme, and internal music, while examining the semantic fields and central symbols
