faculty member from the University of Basrah participates in a master’s thesis defense committee at the University of Baghdad
Dr. Jalal Yaseen Mustafa, a faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Basrah, participated in the defense committee of a master’s thesis at the Institute of Genetic Engineering, University of Baghdad.
The study addressed the role of carbapenemase genes in the resistance of Klebsiella pneumoniae bacteria isolated from urinary tract infections in humans.
The study concluded that it is necessary to continue the genetic characterization of local isolates and to develop natural therapeutic alternatives to help combat drug resistance.
