The Division of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance in the College of Education for Human Sciences organized a two day workshop entitled (Developing the Guiding Skills for the Academic Adviser) to develop the counseling skills of the counseling divisional officials in the colleges of the university.
During the first day of the training workshop the theoretical aspects related to what is counseling at the university, the levels of the academic advisor’s tasks, the guidance curriculum and its objectives were dealt with. The practical side dealt with preparing the counseling plan and some problem-solving strategies such as cognitive behavioral counseling. A form was also presented to follow the absences and the scientific level of students and the monthly report form to be raised by the counselors of the stages and the training was conducted by Professor Dr. Batool Ghaleb Al-Nahi, Director of the Psychological Counseling Division.
