Metal_Porphyrin_Based Covalent Organic Framework Composite Membration for salts and Dyes Separation
in collaboration with other researchers in the journal Compounds, which focuses on chemical compounds and is published by the Swiss publishing house MDPI, classified as Q2 with an impact factor of 2.3.
This study involved the fabrication of continuous thin layers of varying thicknesses of porphyrin-based COF (COF-TCPP (Fe)) on a support layer of PVDF polymer membranes using the interfacial polymerization method. The composite membranes were characterized and their performance in filtration and separation of dyes and salts was evaluated using a closed filtration cell. The results also showed that as the COF concentration increased during the synthesis process, the membrane flux decreased, while the separation efficiency increased.
This study presents a simple and effective method to mitigate the widespread problems of organic copolymer membranes and improve the performance of existing polymer membranes.
