The Cultural Center organizes the theatrical readings forum
The Cultural Center at the University of Basra organized the theatrical readings forum under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, President of the University of Basra, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdul Karim Aboud Odeh, Director of the Center, and on the hall of the Cultural Center Al-Qubba, in the presence of the Iraqi Artists' Association, Basra Branch, Mr. Fathi Shadad, and a group of academics, intellectuals and theaters, and theaters.
The forum aims to activate and revive the theatrical movement in the city of Basra, instill the spirit of life, upgrade the history of the city's theater and preserve its historical achievement.
The ceremony included the speech of the Director of the Cultural Center, a theatrical reading of the theatrical pioneer Abdul Amir Al-Salami, then recalling the columns of theatrical creativity and displaying their pictures in a program produced by the Cultural Center consisting of three episodes entitled (Photo Memory Cabinet). The celebration moved to honor the visual playwrights who enriched the scene with their theatrical work and distinctive activity, namely the theatrical artist Saeed Al-Maliki and Dr. Kholoud Jabar, Director of the Institute of Fine Arts for Girls and theater artist Fadel Saleh Khars.
Then the activities of the forum began and began to get acquainted with the jury, which was formed by Dr. Maher Abdul-Jabbar Abdul-Jabbar Al-Kaytani, the playwright Abdul Karim Al-Amri, the writer and and Senarst Abdul-Khaliq Karim. As for the participants, who presented their texts, a reading of the play of the last kiss, Munta Jasim Jaafar, the text of the play Tamoun Ahmed Taha Hajjo, the spirits of the visiting Haidar Khalaf Mohammed, and the journey of Root Ali Al-Madani at five o'clock in the morning by Abdul Rahman Adel and a scientist of Mazi Ali Moayad, and finally reading the play, a suicide shot by Hussein Mohammed
Finally, the final statement and recommendations were read out by Dr. Maher Abdul Jabbar after two brief speeches by the members of the jury, writer Abdul Karim Al-Amri and writer Abdul-Khaliq Karim, personalizing some essential observations in the development of text writing, while praising the efforts of the young participants and the efforts of the Cultural Center in response to the work to improve the theater in our beloved sight.
Finally, the committee announced the winners of the playwrights, the results on two levels, the first was the victory of the last Qibla play by the writer Muntaha Jassim Jaafar with the award for the best theatrical text, and the writer Abdul Rahman Adel won the award for the best play reading for his fifth text in the morning.
